What Is Pertamina Enduro VR46?

VR46 Racing Team is the Italian team Valentino Rossi founded at Tavullia in 2014, entering the Moto3 World Championship while he was still riding in MotoGP himself. It races in the premier class as Pertamina Enduro VR46, with Pablo Nieto as team manager.

Its championships are from the smaller classes. Francesco Bagnaia won the Moto2 riders’ title for the team in 2018, and it took the Moto2 teams’ championship in 2020. Both were won before the team reached the premier class.

VR46 entered MotoGP in its own right in 2022 with Ducati machinery, and has not won a premier-class championship. Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio ride for it.

Moto3, Moto2 and the Titles

Rossi founded the team in 2014 and put it into Moto3 while he was still racing. It moved up to Moto2, and that is where its championships are: Francesco Bagnaia won the riders' title in 2018 and the team took the teams' championship in 2020.

Both came before VR46 had ever entered the premier class.

Into MotoGP

VR46 entered MotoGP in its own right in 2022 with Ducati machinery, the first time Rossi's team appeared in the class he had spent his career in. Luca Marini, Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio have all ridden for it.

The premier-class championship has not come.
